If you are an affiliate marketer then you may have thought about setting up a site that is connected with the boom in online shopping, like perfume. Practically every adult alive owns several different fragrances, and most of us are happy to receive high quality perfume gift sets on special occasions. We now understand that we do not any longer have to buy our favourite scents from local high street retailers at recommended prices. There is a massive choice available at the new online merchants, and the special offers are very tempting. I know, I have spent many happy hours browsing among top name perfume and cosmetics.

I was once given some Bulgari perfume – the imaginatively named Bulgari. This is one of my all time favourites, but it used to be out of my reach. However I found it for sale online at a great price and I treated myself to a nice large bottle – splash it all over!

At Home Businesses: Choosing the Best Home Based Business

So you have finally made the decision to go out on your own? A quick internet search for ‘home business’ reveals that there are thousands of start-up ideas for your new venture. How do you make the best decision for this new phase of your life? Will it involve a partner or will you do this solo? What about start-up money? Do you have any specific skills that can be expanded upon? Choosing the ideal home based business is really more about choosing the best fit for your personality, skills and income goals.

First of all, look at several different home businesses before making a final decision. As you are searching, always ask yourself whether or not the product itself appeals to you in some way. If you identify strongly with the product, you will find it easier to be passionate when presenting it to others. If it is a business that requires selling, be honest with yourself about your ability to handle rejection and overcome buyer objections. Since you will be working from your home, maybe from the home theater furniture room, will the new business afford you a great deal of flexibility?

Next, take some time to check out the company itself. Does the company have a poor record with the local Better Business Bureau? If the business opportunity is part of a national company, you may be able to obtain various reports from the BBB online. No company will ever have a perfect record if they have been in business for any length of time; however, you can quickly see if complaints and issues were resolved in a timely manner. Also look at longevity. A company that is less than six months old will inherently hold more risk for you than another one with a 15-year track record. Ask for references and take the time to check them out thoroughly.

Once you have decided on one or two final options, consider the training, mentoring and systems that are available. Even if the product line is fabulous, your new business will not thrive without access to proven marketing solutions. If you are looking at direct sales, network marketing or mlm, it is absolutely essential to be part of a successful, positive team. Has the sponsor returned your calls in a timely manner? If the communication is poor while you are still a prospect, it may not improve once you become an associate. If you cannot get answers to your questions now, you certainly cannot expect better information once you sign up.

Finally, consider carefully the amount of money required to start your home business. Even if the amount is less than $150, as is the case with some multi-level marketing opportunities, more capital will be needed for equipment, phone bills and advertising costs. If the cost is several thousand dollars, do you have the credit lines available? Also consider the cash needs to carry the new business for the first several months of operation. Cash flow and profits may not be immediate.

Choose carefully but do decide! Massive action brings massive results.

Becoming A Work At Home Mom

If you’re interested in becoming a work at home mom, there are many opportunities available to you. More and more companies are recognizing the value of allowing employees to telecommute, making working from home a viable option. Work at home moms are also going into business for themselves, starting their own companies that they can build and grow around their families needs. Online companies are also viable options; employing work at home moms as customer service representative, virtual assistants, and transcriptionists.

Before you leave your job to become a work at home mom, be sure to do your research. If you plan to work for your current company, find out what positions they have available for telecommuting. If you plan to become a work at home mom employed by an online company, be sure that they are reputable. Take time to find out what companies you’re interested in working for, and what they have to offer. Don’t fall for work at home mom scams, where they make you pay money for possible leads on jobs, without guaranteeing you a position. In general, if you have to pay to become a work at home mom, it’s not a position you’re interested in.
If you’re interested in building your own work at home mom business, you’re not alone. There are tons of moms starting businesses from the comfort of their own homes, and many of them are very successful at doing so. A great resource to connect with other work at home moms is www.wahm.com – a forum full of great information and people like you. Building your own work at home mom business is very achievable, but will take a great deal of hard work and dedication.

Being a work at home mom has many benefits, however, that make the hard work worth it. You’ll be able to set your own hours and schedule, working as much or as little as you choose to. If someone in your family is sick, you can be available for them without worrying about losing your job for taking too many sick days – make sure you have no exam life insurance youself. You can work around your family’s schedule, spending time on your business when your children are in school or napping, and being available for them when they need you. Work at home moms truly have the best of both worlds.

If you’re interested in becoming a work at home mom, don’t let fear stop you. Begin your research today, and take the first steps toward your new career!

Does your domain name help your ranking – Yes and No

Last week I read an article about the myths of search engine ranking. The very experienced writer stated that your domain name does not help with ranking. To a point she is correct, however there are other things to consider when using a broad statement like this.

Lets look at one of the ways you can build links to your site, being article marketing. Effective article marketing can bring many links, and traffic if done the right way. The articles are from 400 to 600 words and each have there own resource box and link back the writers site.

The articles are then submitted to many article directory sites that accept articles from thousands of authors. The best known site being ezinearticles.com. The articles are then made available to others provided they are kept in tact and with the link back to your site. Effectively this is like newspaper syndication and allows your article to be used in many different places, allow your site to get credit. Now this means that your article, while submitted to a few sites, can start appearing on many others.

Also add in RSS which allows blogs to display your articles, pulling them directly from the article sites, then you can see how articles can spread quickly.

Now many of these sites accept articles only in text format and this is when the domain name becomes important.

In a recent project I got a site from zero to in the top 50 out of 66 million, just using this method. The site name had the main keywords right in the domain name.

Now some say there are no good domains left to do this. All you need to do is think outside the box a little, by adding words to your prime keyword. For example the site I had been working on was CompleteHomeOrganizing.com prime keyword is home organizing and the site is set up as a blog.

The site is only 90 days old and has just begun to gather email addresses and first names. I always recommend you get the traffic to take action when they get to your site, otherwise what use is the traffic – do not simply show it the exit sign.

So always keep in mind that your domain does have some effect in ranking as people will also link to you in the simplest quickest way, which is by copying and pasting your URL.

Article Writing is a very effective and low cost way of getting a site at zero up and running quickly. Some people think they cant write however that is a matter of guidance.

Is Home Based Business Hard?

Not that long ago I had a friend, who has struggled with her belief in the industry, to share with me that network marketing is hard work.

Well from time to time, I have heard from prospects & people outside Network Marketing industry & it’s critics that the industry is a lot of –h-a-r-d w-o-r-k– and that it takes too long to see cash flow.

Well, the “hard work” part is accurate, for sure, and we should never deceive people about that — and that is ‘why’ the ultimate rewards can be so very high.

So in a nutshell here is what I answered – Is network marketing difficult? Yes, and so is anything ‘else’ in life that’s worthwhile.

But let’s be honest – “how” difficult is it? – and, difficult in comparison to What? What other options are ‘out there’ for personal business ownership that are as easy to get set up in?

H-e-r-e is what’s “difficult” – -

It is difficult …. when you tell your family that there is not enough money this Christmas to pay for the Orlando vacations they had looked forward to.

It is difficult – knowing the rust bucket we call a car is eating us alive in maintenance, but we cannot afford a new one…

It is difficult – to go to our annual performance review (job), and even though we have worked “hard” for another year, we come away “empty handed”…

It is difficult – knowing that we shop by “sticker”, rather than whether the garment “looks good” on us…

It is difficult – knowing that we married a wonderful person (our spouse), and promised them the world, and yet for the next 20 years, we look at “balancing the budget” and figuring out what “sacrifices” must be made…

It is difficult – always lowering our “dreams” to meet our “means”…

It is difficult – knowing that we have spent 30-40 years of our life working for someone else — only to realize that we will be retiring on 1/3 of what we cannot live on “today”…

It is difficult – knowing that the fish are biting this week — and we cannot drop what we’re doing and take our Dad fishing…

So ‘ What are we going to do about it? We have nasty habits about rationalizing, procrastinating and skirting important things, rather than ‘facing’ the issues. Too often we allow “others” –who do not pay our bills — who do not share our dreams — to direct “our” future!

Is network marketing “Really” so difficult after all? – Is it so ‘traumatic’ for us to tell people about our breakthrough products? Is it so ‘difficult’ for us to understand that if we “tell enough people” – and “work” this business “hard” – for a few years – that they might not have to ever confront some of the nasty alternatives — and that instead, we could create “choices” for ourselves?

By this time I was really on a roll and I ended the conversation this way ……..

Would you be willing to “work really hard” for next 3-4 years, so that you could be well on your way to putting our family in a more comfortable home? Would you be willing to “work really hard” for a year or two – so that you could send your children to college, chosen by “excellence” rather than one chosen by “price” (the same criteria we used for clothes shopping)??

Would you be willing?

————————
