There may come a point in your life when you cannot live independently any longer. The nuclear family does not allow for the needs of the older generation so it is inevitable that up to fifty per cent of NY residents could end up in New York City Nursing Homes.  Choose the homes with the utmost care, check out references and ask to speak to the families of other residents. Once you move in, always remember that you are a customer and if you are unhappy you have the right to move to another home.
