Dealing in electronic how-to and virtual products means that an internet marketer may have spent a long time becoming an expert in a specialised niche. When the product is ready, they want to publicise it to the widest audience possible. Their own mailing list could be quite small but by allowing other internet marketers to promote the product to their mailing list subscribers, the potential market increases massively. The benefits to the other marketer, acting as an affiliate, are also considerable. They can offer an extra product to their existing and future customers.
