Last week we completed our house purchase and the time of completion was due to be 1pm.  I made sure the solicitor and estate agent stayed on the case and they were instructed to call us the moment the money was paid over. We had a two hour drive to the new house so I could charge my cordless phone battery on the way. In the end we were standing by the car at 2.20 pm in a layby when the happy call came through.  By 4pm the removal lorry had unloaded all our possessions and the unpacking started.  I am not sure when it will finish, though.
