We have had some unfortunate experiences with TVs over the past few years. Five years ago my four year old TV simply gave up, and I was used to televisions that lasted for decades not years. Then I got an early flat screen version but it has never worked properly. After we moved house this TV really went crazy. It will only find one channel, and it is a different channel each night.
So now we are embarking on the quest to find the best lcd tv and this is a daunting task. These TVs are quoted in sizes up to 72″. Whereas I was always happy with a 20″ version in the older type of TV, the minimum for a normal room is now 26″ or 32″. The angle of view varies a lot, and the number of pixels used to make up the picture is denser and you go through the specifications.

Then there is the choice between the makes - who do you believe as to which brand is the best? Each marque quotes it own version of LCD technology, all come with a one year guarantee and they all include a built in digital box. In the end I guess it really is going to be a price comparison between the top makes.
